Garment Care - The DELETTO Standard
At DELETTO, we believe that exceptional garments deserve exceptional care. Each piece we create represents generations of Italian craftsmanship and deserves to be maintained with the same attention to detail that went into its creation.
SUITS Lipari & Maggiore Collections Daily Care
- Allow your suit to rest at least 24 hours between wearings
- Use a quality cedar or wooden hanger that supports the shoulders properly
- Brush gently with a soft natural bristle brush after each wearing, following the fabric's natural grain
- Remove surface dust and lint with a lint roller before storing
Fabric-Specific Care
- Wool, Silk, Cashmere blends: Handle with extra care - these luxury fibers require gentle treatment and should be dry cleaned sparingly
- Virgin Wool blends: More resilient but still require proper hanging and brushing
- Wool, Silk, Linen combinations: Allow extra airing time due to natural fiber properties
- Cotton blend fabrics: Most durable of our collection, but still benefit from professional care
Professional Maintenance
- Dry clean only when absolutely necessary (typically 2–3 times per year maximum)
- For cashmere blends: dry clean only and avoid excessive sunlight exposure
- Select a cleaner experienced with luxury Italian fabrics
- Always inform the cleaner about specific fabric composition
- Request hand-pressing rather than machine pressing
JACKETS Lipari & Maggiore Collections Daily Care
- Allow jackets to air out between wearings to maintain fabric freshness
- Use shaped wooden hangers to preserve shoulder structure and fabric drape
- Brush with natural bristle brush to maintain the luster of silk and wool fibers
- Check pockets regularly and remove all items before storing
Fabric Care by Collection
- Cashmere blends: Store in breathable garment bags, never plastic
- Silk combinations: May be suitable for gentle hand washing depending on specific blend – consult care label
- Linen blends: Allow natural wrinkles to fall out by hanging; light steaming preferred over pressing
- Virgin Wool: Most versatile for seasonal wear, requires standard wool care protocols
Storage
- Store in our signature breathable garment bags when not in regular rotation
- Cashmere pieces require extra protection – store in breathable garment bags to prevent moth damage
- Avoid overcrowding; luxury fabric blends need space to maintain their form
- Keep away from direct sunlight which can fade silk and wool fibers
- Use cedar blocks for natural moth protection with wool and cashmere pieces
